Richard Canning

About the Author

Richard Canning teaches in the School of English at the University of Sheffield. He has published widely in the field of gay literature. Publications include two volumes of conversations with gay novelists, Gay Fiction Speaks (New York, 2000) and Hear Us Out (New York, 2003); he is editor of the volumes of gay male fiction Between Men (New York, 2007) and Between Men 2 (New York, 2009), as well as the AIDS fiction anthology Vital Signs (New York, 2007). Canning wrote Hesperus’s Brief Lives: Oscar Wilde (London, 2008) and has been preparing a critical biography of Ronald Firbank, as well as an edition of Louis Couperus’ Fate (Noodlot).
